I’ve been reflecting on why I’m no longer upset about being discriminated against in the workplace.

I used to feel sad—especially toward my grandfather—because he seemed so nonchalant about a system that rejected me for the benefit of others. I felt like a child sacrifice, pushed out so others could profit from my lack of well-being. And honestly, that wasn’t too far from the truth.

But now, I’m in a position where I can actually influence the direction of the new system. In a way, I’ve become my grandfather: I understand that the system is still imperfect, but the bigger picture comes first. He still loved me and protected me—he would have given me anything if I’d asked. But for me, I would rather work for something than be that guy always on the struggle.

New Reflections — A Systemic View

Looking back, I’ve started to see patterns I didn’t fully understand at the time.

At many of the tables where decisions were made that affected black communities, jewish individuals were present. That’s not an attack — it’s an observation about who held influence. And while some of the worst oppression inflicted on black people came from jewish gatekeepers, the most consequential shift came from White people — emancipation.

Freedom, as noble as it was, came with its own complications. Segregation, for all its perceived injustice, allowed black communities to build their own ecosystems — their own businesses, their own Hollywood — and thrive on their own terms. The real turning point came when the Civil Rights Act opened the workplace and black Americans were suddenly forced to compete with Whites.

I also remember the MLM job offers starting around 2008 — if a room was full of black people, I knew it was a scam. Because of my mental health history and tattoos, I was placed in the same bracket of society that they were.

That’s when DEI became logical. When DEI was pushed too hard, I lost empathy for a while. I felt penalized for things I didn’t do. But now I see the bigger picture: DEI was needed to prevent collapse and keep people — all people — out of survival mode.

Traveling to Asia opened my eyes further. I saw a different consensus about work, gender, and opportunity. It became clear that when women don’t have equitable access to higher-paying jobs, most end up in survival situations, mainly prostitution — not because it’s ideal, but because the money’s there. That humbled me and made me understand why DEI exists.

So when DEI became a national conversation, I wasn’t as angry as other people who look like me. I remember yesterday — I was one of the people pushing it. In fact, I helped create some of the early frameworks. But at the time, living in downtown Detroit, I didn’t understand the difference between jews and Whites yet. Like Hitler, I just knew something felt off.

The Main Point

Women have access to the job market, but sex work offers greater financial return. The same dynamic applies to non-White communities — when legitimate work fails to provide a living wage, crime fills the gap.

Someone might say, “Well, maybe if White people didn’t oppress us,” and I don’t disagree that black communities have faced real oppression. But the hardest time came after segregation — competing with Whites. They’re just not built for capitalism.

The same holds true for women. When men and women compete directly for the same limited pool of jobs, families lose. Less bread on the table, less time at home, more pressure on everyone.
