Backstory: A Marketer's Struggle with Society6
Good customer service means the customer is always right, but that principle seems to be lost on big tech companies. If a company like McDonald’s makes a mistake with an order, the customer is immediately compensated, not left waiting on hold for a week. Similarly, if you work for a company, sign W2s, link your bank information, and don’t get paid for your work, that’s theft—plain and simple.
As a concept, I really loved Society6. However, this wasn’t my first encounter with serious issues related to them. I was a marketer more than an artist in the traditional sense. To me, marketing was an art because selling art was itself an art form. I ran a premium WordPress blog where I curated and promoted other people's art using affiliate marketing links via Society6. I worked hard promoting their products; without professionals like me, Society6 wouldn’t have thrived. So, when my social media account @society6usa was suspended for copyright infringement, I was infuriated. My account was flagged not because of genuine violations, but seemingly out of jealousy—when you searched for Society6 on Instagram, my handle was the first to appear.
Instead of contacting me to resolve the issue amicably, Society6 chose to report my account. This kind of hostile action against those who drove their success was not just frustrating, it was counterproductive. And then, I faced another round of nonsense with them. Sales I made were not showing up on my account, despite being delivered. If a friend hadn’t recently made a purchase, I might never have discovered this discrepancy. How could anyone trust a brand that failed to credit its marketers properly? Imagine how many others might not have been getting paid without realizing it.
All I wanted was fairness. I didn’t need a handout; I just wanted to be compensated for the work I had done. If I were Society6, I would have been on my hands and knees trying to make this right—recognizing and rewarding the marketers who helped them thrive. Transparency and fair compensation were not too much to ask for.

Current Dilemma: Missing Artworks
Fast-forward to today, and my frustration with Society6 has only deepened. Many of my artworks have gone missing from my account without any clear explanation. These pieces were my own creations and did not violate any copyright laws. Yet, they were removed without notice or justification.
Visit my Society6 store to see what’s left. If Society6 gives me some generic excuse, it won’t matter much—I know there are other platforms that offer higher commissions. It's their loss for acting out of petty jealousy. Ignoring the contributions of dedicated creators and marketers can have long-term consequences for any business.
Society6, it's time to step up and do right by your creators and marketers. Transparency, communication, and fair treatment are crucial for any business that wants to thrive.
Here are a few examples of where they scrubbed my artworks. The problem they're going to have is I'm too big for them to deny it. I have years and years of data and blogs as evidence.

Could it be politically or religiously motivated, like Tumblr and Reddit?
So basically you are saying society6 or whatever that platform is, is fraudulent and taking money and products from people using their platform to sell their art...
I certainly won’t be using their website ever...thanks for the heads up 👍
