Gemini Doing Customers Dirty?
– Today, we take the deep dive to find out what’s going on with this Crypto Exchange.
When a Bank Refuses to Provide Customer Service
As a customer of a bank, you have a right to reasonable customer service.
This includes access to customer service representatives and timely responses to inquiries and complaints.
But what happens when a bank refuses to speak with its customers or otherwise provide customer service?
Is this legal, and what can customers do about it?
In general, banks have a legal obligation to provide reasonable customer service to their customers.
This obligation is often established by consumer protection laws and regulations.
If a bank fails to provide reasonable customer service,
it could be in violation of these laws and could face regulatory action or lawsuits.
However, there may be situations where a bank is not able to speak with a customer due to legal or regulatory restrictions.
For example, if the bank is under investigation by law enforcement or regulatory agencies,
it may be required by law to limit its communication with customers.
In these cases, the bank is not necessarily refusing to provide customer service,
but rather is complying with legal or regulatory requirements.
That being said, if a bank is purposely avoiding contact with its customers without a valid legal or regulatory reason,
it could be considered a breach of its legal obligations.
This could result in legal action or regulatory sanctions against the bank.
It’s important for customers to have a way to contact their bank to address any issues or concerns.
If a bank is not providing customer service in a timely and effective manner,
customers can file a complaint with the bank’s regulatory agency.
They can also consider switching to a different bank that provides better customer service.
In conclusion, banks have a legal obligation to provide reasonable customer service to their customers.
While there may be situations where a bank is not able to speak with a customer due to legal or regulatory restrictions,
banks should make reasonable efforts to provide access to customer service representatives and respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
If a bank is purposely avoiding contact with its customers without a valid legal or regulatory reason,
customers can take action to address the issue and protect their rights as consumers.

All I wanted to do was pay my bill, and for some reason my password didn’t work, so I changed it.
Then the new password didn’t work, and so on.
2FA works; hardware keys work, I’m able to communicate through email, but for some reason passwords don’t work, even when I immediately change them.
So, I did the only logical thing, I requested a freeze on my account.
I read that freezing my account doesn’t stop me from being able to log in.
However, this is Gemini:
Your account was placed under a security restriction a result of a recent report of unauthorized activity. In order to proceed, please submit the documents we have requested before.
Gemini
Yes, I did that!
I requested a freeze on my account because uncertainty of how long it would take Gemini team to respond.
I still need to log into my account though!
Gemini does not provide many options to contact them other than email, and the support team kept requesting that I give additional information I didn’t feel right about giving to escalate my case for expedited service.

After several back and forth emails, and being re-routed to several agents having to re-explain myself for the same issue, then they told me this:
Thank you for reaching out.
If you have an issue updating your password, please send us a screenshot of it, in order to assist you further. Due to security purposes, we cannot view or download email attachments. As an alternative, you can upload via our secure Gemini DropZone by following the link below:

Please let me know once this is complete, as I will escalate your case for expedited service.Gemini
I’m still waiting to hear back from them, when I send the requested info, they reroute me to a different agent who doesn’t know my case.
I’m on a loop going nowhere!

It took me a week of fighting, literally 20 emails later, just to get them to finally give me a working phone number.
Super sketchy, I need a receipt and the ability to see my balance. I'm pretty sure this company is compromised. https://t.co/dmOu7SdNqv pic.twitter.com/FegEJafY3X— DANIEL BRUMMITT (@dan__brummitt) April 5, 2023

I really want to be able to pay my bill. I've never missed a payment.
I have a credit card opened with @Gemini, and not having a working password to log into my account makes it impossible to pay my bill. @FTC @CFPB #consumerprotection #NYDFS @CFTC @AskEquifax pic.twitter.com/mBR3UdSPRD— DANIEL BRUMMITT (@dan__brummitt) April 3, 2023

#Gemini update,
In general, #Banks are required to provide reasonable notice before interrupting their services.
If a #Bank interrupts its services without providing any explanation or notice, its called a #BreachOfContract among other legal obligations.#WebBank #MasterCard pic.twitter.com/2Lp68idRDp— DANIEL BRUMMITT (@dan__brummitt) May 1, 2023
