Hey everyone,
So, I’ve been thinking a lot about my journey with NFTs, and I’ve decided it’s time to move on. Don’t get me wrong—I loved the idea of smart contracts and cutting out the middleman. But the reality? It was a mess. Here’s why I’m stepping away.
The Problems with NFTs
Gas Fees Were a Nightmare
Ethereum’s gas fees were all over the place. I’d get charged double what I expected, and sometimes the transaction would still fail. It was frustrating for me and unfair to anyone trying to buy my art.The Environmental Cost
I didn’t realize how bad the environmental impact of blockchain transactions was until I got deeper into the space. As someone who tries to live sustainably, it just didn’t sit right with me.The Market Changed
The NFT space became less about art and more about speculation. It felt like people were just flipping JPEGs for profit, and that’s not why I got into this.
Where My Art Lives Now
If you’re still interested in my work, you can find it on Fine Art America. It’s a much simpler, more sustainable way to share and sell my art. Check it out here: Daniel Brummitt on Fine Art America.
What’s Next?
I’m not giving up on art—far from it. I’m just focusing on creating in ways that feel right to me. Thanks to everyone who supported me during my NFT phase. Your encouragement kept me going, and I hope you’ll stick around for what’s next.
Cheers,
Daniel Brummitt
